MyBody-X angle on Stress Basis

MyBody-X offers tests that can analyze biomarkers like cortisol and genetic variants related to stress processing. However, the evidence is limited: while elevated cortisol is indeed associated with stress and potentially accelerated aging, most genetic associations come from GWAS with small effect sizes. A single elevated cortisol reading from a home test says little about long-term stress burden or aging hallmarks like senescence or mTOR signaling. Moreover, clinical validation for interpreting such results in daily life is lacking. These tests can serve as orientation but do not replace medical diagnosis or stress management strategies. Be cautious of exaggerated marketing claims; the actual clinical relevance is often unclear.
