Is CRP Entzündung useful for Allergie?

CRP (C-reactive protein) is a non-specific marker of inflammation. In allergies, it may be mildly elevated, especially in chronic allergic conditions like allergic rhinitis or asthma. However, CRP is not useful for diagnosing allergies or distinguishing them from other inflammatory causes. Allergy diagnosis requires specific tests such as IgE antibodies, skin prick tests, or provocation tests. An elevated CRP alone does not indicate an allergy. Many factors (infections, stress, smoking) can affect CRP. Evidence for CRP's utility in allergy is weak, based on observational studies, not clinical guidelines. Caveat: a normal CRP does not rule out allergy, and an elevated CRP is not diagnostic. For consumer tests: home CRP measurements without medical interpretation have limited value.
