An IgE allergy test measures specific antibodies to allergens and indicates an atopic tendency. Direct effects on fertility are not proven. However, uncontrolled allergies (e.g., asthma, hay fever) or their treatment (antihistamines, corticosteroids) may indirectly affect conception. Some studies suggest a slightly higher prevalence of fertility issues in atopic individuals, but the evidence is weak and not causal. Importantly, an IgE test is not a fertility test.
