The AllergieCheck (IgE antibody test) measures specific IgE antibodies against allergens and is primarily used for diagnosing type I allergies. Stress can influence immune function via neuroendocrine pathways (e.g., cortisol, cytokines), potentially modulating IgE levels, but the test is not validated for stress assessment. Evidence linking IgE to psychological stress is mostly mechanistic and inconsistent. Elevated total IgE may occur in atopic conditions but also due to parasites, smoking, or genetics. The test provides no information about stress burden or stress-related health outcomes.
