The MyBody-X IgE Allergy Check measures specific IgE antibodies against common allergens (e.g., pollen, dust mites, pet dander, foods). A positive result indicates sensitization, but does not necessarily mean clinical allergy – many sensitized individuals have no symptoms. Conversely, a negative result does not rule out allergy, as allergens outside the panel or non-IgE-mediated reactions are possible. The test is intended as a screening or complement to medical diagnosis, not as a standalone basis for treatment decisions. Finger-prick samples may have lower sensitivity than venous blood draws. Elevated IgE can also result from parasitic infections or other conditions. Interpretation should always be done by an allergist.
