What to watch with Omega-3 Index and fatigue?

The Omega-3 Index measures the percentage of EPA and DHA in red blood cell membranes and reflects long-term omega-3 status. A low index (<4 %) is associated with higher inflammatory potential, which may theoretically contribute to fatigue. However, the evidence for a direct causal link between Omega-3 Index and fatigue is mixed: some randomized trials show modest improvement in exhaustion with supplementation, others do not. Fatigue is multifactorial (sleep, stress, iron deficiency, thyroid, etc.). What to watch: 1) your actual Omega-3 Index value (target 8–12 %), 2) accompanying inflammatory markers like hs-CRP, 3) other potential causes of fatigue. MyBody-X does not currently test Omega-3 Index; consider specialized labs. Caveat: not a diagnostic tool; persistent fatigue requires medical evaluation.
