CYP1A2 is a cytochrome P450 enzyme primarily involved in drug and caffeine metabolism. There is no strong scientific evidence directly linking CYP1A2 to allergies. Some weak, mostly mechanistic hypotheses suggest that CYP1A2 might influence histamine breakdown or activate pro-allergenic compounds from environmental toxins (e.g., cigarette smoke), but these effects are small, not reproducible, and lack clinical relevance for allergy prediction or management. Therefore, CYP1A2 genotyping is not useful for allergy assessment. The evidence level is 'mechanistic' or 'unclear'.
