MyBody-X angle on Ballaststoffe Basis

A MyBody-X DNA test can provide information on genetic risk factors for thyroid health, particularly by analyzing the TPO gene. Studies (human-observational) show that variants in TPO are linked to congenital hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroid disease. However, a DNA test only indicates predisposition, not current thyroid function. It cannot replace a blood hormone test (TSH, fT3, fT4, antibodies). Results may not apply to all ethnicities. Caveat: any genetic finding should be followed up with clinical lab work and a doctor's interpretation. For a healthy person without symptoms, the added value of such a test is limited.
