What to watch with Homocystein and fertility?

Homocysteine is an amino acid produced during metabolism. Elevated levels (hyperhomocysteinemia) have been associated with fertility issues, including recurrent miscarriage, implantation failure, and reduced egg quality. However, the evidence is mostly observational; causality is not firmly established. Deficiencies in folate, vitamin B12, and B6 can raise homocysteine levels. Therefore, supplementation of these vitamins is sometimes recommended to support fertility. Caveat: individual benefit is not guaranteed, and excessive doses can be harmful. Testing homocysteine can be useful but should be interpreted by a doctor. MyBody-X tests provide guidance but are not a substitute for medical advice.
