Is Zöliakie Test useful for Fruchtbarkeit?

A celiac genetic test (e.g., HLA-DQ2/DQ8) is of limited use for fertility. Untreated celiac disease can impair fertility through malabsorption and inflammation, but the test only indicates genetic predisposition—not active disease. Most carriers never develop celiac. A positive genetic result alone does not warrant fertility treatment or a gluten-free diet. Specific antibody tests (tTG-IgA) and clinical evaluation are more appropriate if celiac is suspected. Evidence linking DTC celiac tests to fertility outcomes is weak and based on observational studies. Caveat: DTC tests are not diagnostic. Evidence: mixed.
