Evidence check: TCF7L2 in the context of allergy

TCF7L2 is a well-established gene for type 2 diabetes risk (strong GWAS evidence). For allergies, however, there is no robust evidence. Some exploratory studies have looked at possible links to immune modulation, but findings are inconsistent and not replicated. TCF7L2's primary role is in Wnt signaling and glucose metabolism. Therefore, testing TCF7L2 in the context of allergies is not supported by current science.
