MyBody-X angle on Helicobacter Check

MyBody-X does not offer a direct Helicobacter pylori test, as it is diagnostic and falls under German law (GenDG). Instead, they may provide indirect biomarkers (e.g., stomach acid parameters, inflammation markers) or a stool antigen test as an add-on. Genetic predisposition for H. pylori infection is influenced by SNPs like IL1B or TLR4, but with small effect sizes. A positive genetic test does not predict active infection. For diagnosis, breath test, stool test, or gastroscopy with biopsy are the gold standard. MyBody-X should clearly state that such genetic tests are not for diagnosis or treatment decisions.
