What role does IgE Allergietest play in Fruchtbarkeit?

The role of an IgE allergy test in fertility is not scientifically well-established. IgE tests measure specific allergies that trigger a type I immune response. Some studies suggest a possible link between allergies and fertility issues – for example, through chronic inflammation, histamine release, or immunological changes in the uterine environment. However, the effects are generally small and the evidence is heterogeneous. There are no robust clinical guidelines recommending routine IgE testing in fertility workups. In cases of unexplained infertility or accompanying allergy symptoms, an IgE test may be considered as part of a broader immunological assessment, but not as a standalone marker. Results should always be interpreted in context with other findings. Caution is warranted against overinterpreting single results from direct-to-consumer tests.
