What can the AllergieCheck | IgE-Antikörper Test tell you — and what not?

The AllergieCheck | IgE-Antibody Test measures specific IgE antibodies to common allergens (e.g., pollen, dust mites, pet dander, certain foods). A positive result indicates sensitization – meaning the immune system has produced antibodies against the substance. However, this does not necessarily mean that symptoms will occur. Many people have IgE antibodies without clinical allergy. Therefore, the test can provide clues about possible triggers but does not replace a medical diagnosis. It cannot distinguish between true allergy and asymptomatic sensitization. Non-IgE-mediated reactions (e.g., lactose intolerance, celiac disease) are not detected. Interpretation should always consider clinical history and ideally be done by an allergist. The test is useful as a screening tool but not as a sole basis for dietary changes or medication.
