What role does Triglyceride play in fatigue?

Triglycerides are the main form of fat storage and serve as an energy reserve. Elevated blood triglycerides are linked to metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and inflammation – all of which can indirectly contribute to fatigue. However, the direct role of triglycerides in causing fatigue is not well established. Mechanistically, impaired fat oxidation or mitochondrial dysfunction might reduce energy availability, but strong human evidence is lacking. Consumer lab tests can measure triglyceride levels but cannot diagnose the cause of fatigue. Evidence is primarily mechanistic; persistent fatigue should be evaluated by a physician.
