Is Testosteron useful for allergy?

Testosterone is an androgen with immunomodulatory properties. Some studies suggest it may suppress allergic responses by reducing IgE production and Th2 cytokines. However, the evidence is conflicting: in certain allergies or at high doses, testosterone might even promote inflammation. There is no approved indication for testosterone in allergy treatment. Use without medical supervision carries risks such as hormonal imbalances, cardiovascular effects, or liver damage. Most data come from animal models or small observational studies; robust human trials are lacking. Therefore, using testosterone for allergies is not evidence-based and is not recommended. Proven therapies like antihistamines, corticosteroids, or allergen immunotherapy should be prioritized.
