Can TCF7L2 help with fatigue?

TCF7L2 is strongly associated with type 2 diabetes risk (human-strong). Diabetes can cause fatigue, especially when blood sugar is poorly controlled. However, there is no direct evidence that a TCF7L2 variant itself causes fatigue – the link is indirect via metabolic health. A DNA test alone cannot tell you whether your fatigue is genetic. More actionable are blood glucose and HbA1c tests, along with a medical evaluation. Evidence for a direct fatigue effect is weak (human-moderate).
