MC4R variants like rs17782313 are associated with a slightly higher BMI (OR ~1.2). While obesity can affect fertility, there is no direct evidence that MC4R testing is useful for fertility prediction or management. The effect size is small and not deterministic. Hormonal status, cycle health, and lifestyle are far more important. A DNA test for MC4R alone does not provide actionable fertility insights. Evidence: GWAS (weight), not fertility.
