Myths vs facts: AMH and Sport

AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) is a marker of ovarian reserve, not athletic performance. Myths claim high AMH protects fertility or that exercise lowers AMH. Evidence shows small, inconsistent links: intense endurance training may slightly reduce AMH, but effects are modest and individual. Normal AMH does not predict egg quality or pregnancy chance. For female athletes, AMH is not a useful metric for training optimization or fertility planning. Evidence is mostly mechanistic/observational; RCTs are lacking. Consult a gynecologist for fertility concerns, not consumer tests alone.
