Can HLA-DQ2 help with Schlaf?

HLA-DQ2 is a risk allele for celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. It does not directly help with sleep. However, untreated celiac disease can impair sleep due to malabsorption, inflammation, or nocturnal symptoms. A positive HLA-DQ2 test alone is not diagnostic – only about 30 % of carriers develop celiac disease. The evidence for sleep improvement from knowing HLA-DQ2 status is mechanistic and indirect: studies show that a gluten-free diet can improve sleep quality in celiac patients, but no randomized controlled trials demonstrate benefit in healthy carriers. Caveat: Do not start a gluten-free diet without medical workup (antibody test, biopsy), as it can hinder diagnosis. This test is not a sleep aid.
