Is ApoB useful for Langlebigkeit?

ApoB (apolipoprotein B) is a direct measure of the number of atherogenic particles (LDL, VLDL, IDL) in the blood and is considered a more accurate risk marker for cardiovascular disease than LDL cholesterol alone. Since cardiovascular events are the leading cause of death worldwide, ApoB is highly relevant for longevity. Studies show that ApoB levels are independently associated with atherosclerosis progression and premature mortality. Lowering ApoB through lifestyle (healthy fats, fiber, exercise) or medications (statins, PCSK9 inhibitors) can significantly reduce risk. However, ApoB is not a direct longevity marker like telomere length or epigenetic clocks; it is a surrogate for vascular health. For a comprehensive longevity assessment, ApoB should be interpreted alongside other markers (Lp(a), hsCRP, fasting insulin). The evidence is strong (human-strong), based on large prospective cohorts and Mendelian randomization studies. Caveat: single measurements can fluctuate; repeat testing and consideration of inflammation or medication use are necessary. MyBody-X offers ApoB in its blood test panel, but interpretation should be done by a physician.
