Can Homocystein help with Müdigkeit?

Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid metabolite, not a dietary supplement. The question of whether it helps with fatigue stems from a misunderstanding: elevated homocysteine levels in blood are a risk factor for cardiovascular and neurological issues and may be associated with fatigue – but not because homocysteine itself provides energy, but because a deficiency in B vitamins (folate, B12, B6) can both raise homocysteine and cause fatigue. The evidence-based approach is therefore to lower homocysteine levels, not raise them. Supplementing homocysteine would be potentially harmful. The association between homocysteine and fatigue is mechanistic and observational, not causally proven. For fatigue, other causes (iron deficiency, thyroid, sleep) should be investigated before considering homocysteine. The evidence base is unclear to mechanistic; no randomized trials support homocysteine as a treatment for fatigue.
