Elevated IgE levels typically indicate an allergic predisposition or parasitic infection. Direct evidence linking IgE to fertility is weak. However, chronic allergies or their treatments (e.g., antihistamines) may indirectly affect fertility – for example, by altering cervical mucus or sperm quality. Systemic inflammation from severe allergies could also negatively impact implantation rates. The evidence is heterogeneous and not conclusive. An IgE test alone is not a fertility marker. For unexplained infertility, a comprehensive workup (hormones, anatomy, semen analysis, infections) is essential. Elevated IgE does not justify specific fertility therapy but may hint at underlying immune dysregulation. Caution against overinterpretation: evidence is mostly mechanistic and observational.
