Is Vitamin D Test useful for longevity?

A vitamin D test can identify deficiency, which is associated with increased all-cause mortality in observational studies. However, its utility for longevity in healthy individuals is not strongly supported. Evidence is human-moderate: meta-analyses show a link between low serum 25(OH)D and higher mortality, but interventional trials with vitamin D supplementation have not consistently demonstrated longevity benefits. Optimal levels for longevity remain undefined, and consumer tests often lack clinical context. Testing is reasonable for at-risk groups (elderly, limited sun exposure, darker skin) but not as a standalone longevity predictor. MyBody-X tests are not diagnostic. Caveat: a normal result does not guarantee extended lifespan, and lifestyle factors (diet, exercise, sleep) are far more impactful.
