Is AllergieCheck | IgE-Antikörper Test useful for allergy?

The AllergieCheck, which measures IgE antibodies, can in principle indicate allergic sensitization. However, the clinical utility of such direct-to-consumer tests is limited. Elevated total IgE is nonspecific and can also occur with parasitic infections or certain immune deficiencies. Specific IgE tests for individual allergens are more informative, but even then a positive result does not necessarily mean clinical allergy – asymptomatic sensitization is common. Evidence for the benefit of home allergy tests is weak; the German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology (DGAKI) recommends physician-led diagnosis including history and, if needed, provocation tests. Without medical interpretation, results can lead to misdiagnosis, unnecessary diets, or false reassurance. The specific 'AllergieCheck' test has not been validated in independent clinical studies.
