When is Helicobacter Training actually useful?

Helicobacter pylori training (e.g., a test or educational program) is useful only when there is a medically confirmed H. pylori infection or typical symptoms (epigastric pain, heartburn). Without risk factors or symptoms, general screening is not recommended because H. pylori is very common worldwide and only a subset of carriers develop gastritis, ulcers, or cancer. DNA tests for genetic susceptibility (e.g., IL-1B variants) have weak evidence and are not clinically established. Microbiome tests may detect H. pylori, but accuracy is limited; a positive result should be confirmed by a breath test or endoscopy. The evidence for such training or test offerings is mostly marketing-driven or mechanistic. Targeted advice is only useful when there is a concrete suspicion or after a medical diagnosis.
