Is Zöliakie Test useful for fertility?

A celiac disease test can be useful in cases of unexplained infertility, as untreated celiac disease may impair fertility through nutrient malabsorption and systemic inflammation. Studies indicate a higher prevalence of celiac disease among women with unexplained infertility. However, it is not a general fertility screening tool – the evidence is based on observational studies rather than randomized trials. A positive test warrants medical follow-up and a gluten-free diet, which may improve fertility outcomes. Caveat: testing is only meaningful when symptoms or risk factors are present; a negative result does not rule out other fertility issues.
