What to watch with HLA-DQ2 and Darmgesundheit?

HLA-DQ2 is the primary genetic risk factor for celiac disease. About 30 % of the population carry it, but only 2–3 % develop celiac. If you have HLA-DQ2 and gut issues (bloating, diarrhea, fatigue), watch for gluten-related symptoms. Medical follow-up should include serology (tTG-IgA) and, if positive, duodenal biopsy. A positive genetic test alone does not diagnose celiac – it only indicates elevated risk. Other gut conditions (IBS, histamine intolerance) can mimic celiac. Evidence for the HLA-DQ2–celiac link is human-strong (large GWAS and clinical cohorts). Caveat: many carriers never develop symptoms; a gluten-free diet without confirmed diagnosis is not advised.
