Is CYP2C19 useful for longevity?

CYP2C19 is a key enzyme for drug metabolism, notably for clopidogrel and proton pump inhibitors. It is not directly useful for longevity prediction. Variants affect how quickly certain drugs are processed, which can indirectly influence health if you take those medications. However, there is no evidence that CYP2C19 alone determines lifespan. Consumer tests often overstate its relevance. Evidence is strong for pharmacogenetics but weak for longevity. Never adjust medication without a doctor.
