IgE Allergietest: can a microbiome test help?

A microbiome test like MyBody-X's Darmflora test cannot diagnose or replace IgE allergy testing. It identifies relative abundances of over 1,500 bacteria, but the clinical relevance of most bacteria for allergies remains unclear. Observational studies suggest the gut microbiome may influence allergic diseases, but the relationship is complex and not causal. A single snapshot is heavily influenced by diet, medications, and environment. The test is not a substitute for specific IgE blood tests or medical allergy evaluation. Evidence: marketing/unclear.
