Undiagnosed allergies can impair recovery or trigger anaphylaxis, especially in outdoor endurance athletes. However, IgE testing is not a routine screening tool for athletes without suspected allergy. Evidence for a direct performance benefit from allergy diagnostics is weak; the main value lies in symptom management and risk reduction.
