Can FUT2 help with allergy?

Whether FUT2 can help with allergies is not scientifically settled. FUT2 encodes a fucosyltransferase that determines secretor status, influencing gut microbiota composition and secretory IgA-mediated immunity. Some GWAS have linked FUT2 variants to allergic conditions like asthma or hay fever, but effect sizes are small and findings inconsistent.
