The combination of LCT (lactase persistence) and sleep is poorly studied in the scientific literature. LCT variants determine whether you can digest lactose – a direct effect on sleep is not established. Indirectly, undiagnosed lactose intolerance could cause bloating or abdominal pain that disturbs sleep. However, sleep problems are multifactorial: stress, light, caffeine, sleep hygiene, and other genes (e.g., CLOCK, PER) play a much larger role. MyBody-X or other DNA tests claiming a link between LCT and sleep overstate the evidence. Such claims are mostly marketing. If you have sleep issues, seek medical evaluation rather than relying on genetic 'clues'. A lactose intolerance breath test or a sleep diary is more useful than a genetic test.
