Evidence check: Testosteron Test in the context of allergy

Testosterone testing is not standard in allergy diagnostics. Mechanistic evidence suggests testosterone modulates immune responses – low levels may correlate with enhanced TH2 (allergic) inflammation, but human studies are weak and inconsistent. Current allergy guidelines do not recommend routine hormone assessment. A testosterone test is only indicated for suspected hypogonadism, not allergy workup. Caveat: self-testing without medical supervision risks misinterpretation and unnecessary supplementation, which carries side effects (e.g., cardiovascular risks, sleep apnea).
