VKORC1 encodes vitamin K epoxide reductase, a key enzyme in the vitamin K cycle. It is well-known for its role in warfarin sensitivity and dosing. However, there is no strong scientific evidence directly linking VKORC1 variants to allergies. Some direct-to-consumer (DTC) tests may suggest a connection via vitamin K-dependent immune modulation, but this is based on weak mechanistic hypotheses or marketing claims, not robust human studies.
